Sewing Box

About a week and a half ago, my trusty old sewing box fell apart rather suddenly and catastrophically. I had inherited it from my grandmother, I think, and it was something like 50 years old.

Naturally, I could not find a similar box to replace it with. The closest match I could find, in terms of capacity, was a tackle box. I have re-loaded it with my sewing things.

It’s adequate, but it really isn’t built for the job — there’s no spot that’s just the right size for bobbins, or for spools of thread. The sewing boxes I saw online were all too small, not portable, and/or covered with fabric, which will inevitably get dusty, stained, and torn over the course of the next 50-ish years. So, there it is, my sewing tackle box, ready for my next few decades of occasional and amateurish sewing.
